And, yes, I’m still here. 2011 has, so far, been a fantastic year for à deux. I’ve been so busy I haven’t had any time or energy left for blogging. Excuses, right? Well, it’s a good one. It means that brides- and grooms-to-be are loving the work. It means that I’m finally settling in to the wedding community of my adopted home. And it means that my regular readers are probably off flirting with another stationery blog.
Sleep is for suckers, right? So, I’m writing this in the wee hours of the morning to give loyal fan and followers a few updates about what’s happening around here. The headlines:
- In January, à deux became a member of the Boston Wedding Group. This exclusive organization of outstanding wedding professionals has been around since 1995 and includes only Boston’s best. I’m honored to be counted among them. Check out the website to find out how this network of stellar wedding professionals can make your wedding a smashing success.
- As of February, you can also find me on the Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Platinum List. It’s the ultimate planning resource providing affluent brides with access to high-end vendors from all over the country.
- At the end of March, the work was recently featured on the Martha Stewart Wedding Bride’s Guide blog! Yes, THAT Martha. The profile features photos of some new work and a neat write up. The best part was the unsolicited comments that showed up on the post from current and former clients, colleagues and strangers.
- Published in “Art of Celebration New England,” a beautiful coffee table book with tips, hints and ideas from planners, caterers, floral artists, stationers and other event specialists. At more than 370 pages, my advance copy is simply gorgeous. It’s been a year in the making and will be on bookstore shelves this summer. It’s available for pre-order on Amazon.com.
And, from Boston to Bermuda, Chad Michael Peters has been keeping me very busy as his signature paper partner.
I’m already booking into 2012 and it’s only May. This month I’m heading to the National Stationery Show in New York City to shop for new suppliers and hang out with paper-obsessed colleagues. Then I’m off to San Diego for Engage!11, a luxury wedding business summit. Several of my wedding industry idols will be there: social media consultant Liene Stevens, planners Michelle Rago and Marcy Blum, stationer Ellen Black (of Lehr & Black), Style Me Pretty founder Abby Larson … it should be a wonderful experience.
So … apologies, dear friends. The blog will be a little quiet over the next month but I’ll have plenty to share again soon. If you need more for me more regularly, Facebook and Twitter are the way to go until I get some downtime.
Now, go outside and enjoy the nice weather for me.
