autumn 2014

Today is the autumnal equinox, better known as the first day of fall. It’s no wonder fall weddings are so popular: Changing leaves create amazing photos and, with the summer heat gone, no one will be sweating through their fancy attire.

The season’s color palette ranges from brick to russet to terra cotta. Even aubergine and a bit of bright green work well now. Don’t forget the metallics: gold, copper and bronze can be perfect accents. Mix these bold hues with natural textures, like hemp, twine or wood to create a dramatic display.

There is a chill in the air but, as long as the sun is shining, the slow march to winter won’t be so bad, right?
