These New York City urbanites wanted their invitation to exude refined simplicity that was playful and stylish for an elegant wedding in a rustic setting on the waterfront of Peaks Island, Maine. The colors were tomato-soup red and gray with a touch of orange as an accent. When Katie told me Joe proposed to her in a chicken barn, I knew right away we had to include poultry as part of the invitation.
We named her Millicent (Millie for short) and her regal silhouette was used throughout the stationery ensemble from the envelope liner to the ceremony programs. This was a letterpress-flat printing hybrid, meaning some of the pieces were done by the former and others in the latter. The scalloped edges of the invitation and program were laser cut and designed to suggest the sea and feathers. I got super excited when Katie “got” that.
Calligraphy and a custom photo stamp completed this super-fun wedding paper project. Katie and Joe, thank for choosing à deux. It’s been a pleasure. Best wishes!
